Eukaryotic parasites can exchange drug resistance genes via EVs!

What!? You said eukaryotic cells can exchange DNA? Yes! In this latest paper, we demonstrate that Leishmania, an eukaryotic parasite, can exchange of drug resistance genes via horizontal transfer through extracellular vesicles (EVs).
