Apr 6th, 2022, was the culprit of a long trip for Atia: the finals of the 3 minute thesis (3MT) competition. The 3MT is highly competitive. The initial >150 contestants have to attend training sessions and compete in heats to select the best candidates. Atia, was amongst the 15 finalists! Then... more training sessions, refining the presentation, practicing in front of the lab, refining again, etc... what a journey. But so formative. Can you imagine summarizing your PhD thesis in 3 minutes in a language that everybody can understand? Atia mastered it!
Yesterday, the 15 presentations were excellent, but Atia stood out. She won the grand prize! Making a very proud lab and boss ;-) Atia will represent McGill University at the Eastern Canada Regional competition on June 16th. The whole lab is behind you!
